Welcome to What’s Happening at BCS!
5th June 2017
This term, BCS is taking part in the Christian Inter-school Debating Competition (CIDCOM). During the past few years our school team has experienced great success which we hope to continue this year. This year we have an almost completely new team with many who have never debated before. This is a great opportunity for students to practice their public speaking skills while also developing their ability to research and construct well reasoned arguments. So far the team from BCS has shown great determination and preparation and we wish them well for the remainder of the competition.

Walk Safely to School Day
Matt Keane, MP. and Cr Nathan Tilbury joined with students from BCS on Friday as part of the National Walk Safely to School Day initiative. This day seeks to promote road safety, while also encouraging students to get physically activeby walking to school. Nearly half the school took part in this day which was a great showing of support.

Leadership in Action
On Wednesday 29th March, BCS held an ‘Experience Big School’ day and welcomed the boys and girls from the local preschool. The Year 6 students acted as buddies to the younger children and showed them around the school, demonstrated how to use the different equipment, created pictures using the computers and played a range of games. It was a great morning of exploration and learning for the preschoolers and a great chance for the BCS leaders to develop and practice their leadership skills.

Swimming Carnival Fun
The sun was shining and the azure blue water inviting for the BCS annual swimming carnival. As always it was a wonderful day of community and fun as students competed in the timed events and assisted their partners in the infant novelty races. This carnival is a lovely way in which BCS demonstrates the strength of a small school as all students from K-6 took part in the day and put into practice what they had been learning in their swimming lessons.
Thank you to all the parents who helped on the day. We wish the students going to Zone all the best as they represent BCS.
